ABOUT THE EVENT
Connecting Mining Geology Community Through Knowledge, Innovation, and Collaboration
Datamine Australia is pleased to host the Geology Symposium 2026 in Perth this August.
The Symposium brings together geology and resource professionals to explore the latest developments in mining geology, with a focus on current challenges and emerging opportunities across modern geology and mining operations.
Across the program, attendees will gain insights through expert presentations, real-world case studies, panel discussion and technical workshops designed to support more informed decision-making and improved operational outcomes. The content is focused on practical application, enabling insights that can be directly applied to enhance everyday geological modelling and performance.
Attendees will hear directly from leading industry professionals and organisations including Ravenswood Gold, Newmont, Mine Vision Systems, Augment Technologies, Geosyntec, Gold Fields, Northern Star, Snowden Optiro, and Datamine.
The Symposium also provides valuable opportunities to connect and network within the Australian mining geology community, with post-event networking drinks at 18 Knots Rooftop Bar.

DAY 2 - TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS
Wednesday, 12 August 2026
Exploration To Production: Building Mineralisation Models in Studio Geo
Create and update models quickly using the new Dynamic Modeling system
This hands-on workshop will guide participants through building a mineralisation model from scratch using Studio Geo’s Dynamic Modelling system. Topics include drillhole data import, interval selection, fault creation, model generation, and an introduction to additional tools such as block modelling and GC Estimation.
Course Outline:
SUPERVISOR WORKSHOP
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Trainers:
From Conditional Simulation to Localised Conditional Simulation Using Supervisor
Turn uncertainty into insight, learn to simulate, validate and localise conditional simulations with confidence
Learn how Supervisor is used to run and validate conditional simulations and transition outputs into a Localised Conditional Simulation (LCS) workflow. Through practical examples, participants will gain experience in simulation setup, validation techniques, and applying localisation methods to improve model relevance and interpretability.

DAY 3 - TECHNICAL WORKSHOP
Thursday, 13 August 2026
RECONCILOR WORKSHOP
9.00 AM – 4.00 PM
Trainer:
Modern Mine Reconciliation: Principles, Processes and Practical Application in Reconcilor
Explore the fundamentals of mine reconciliation and the practical application of industry-leading reconciliation technology in this interactive workshop.
This full-day session begins with key reconciliation principles and their application in understanding variances, identifying losses, quantifying uncertainty, and improving operational performance. Participants will then apply these concepts in a hands-on Reconcilor exercise.
